Hello all,

My EE details: AOR 29 APRIL 2020 - CEC INLAND - EE

I have scoured the forums and seen different responses everywhere. I am creating this thread to discuss the possible meaning of currently valid.

Anyways, after reading up on some April CEC getting eligibility passed, I reached out to IRCC via a webform on 31 JULY 2020 and asked about my eligibility, criminality, security and visa office. I got this reply:

We verified the information on file and can confirm that:
  • The eligibility is currently valid.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.
  • The security background verification is currently valid.
  • Your file is currently located at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
I have also ordered GCMS notes on July 22, yet to receive them. Will update this thread if I get any information from them.

I wanted to ask members with previous experiences or had the same webform response and ordered GCMS, did currently valid mean passed in your GCMS or experience?

Look forward to discussion and responses.

Thanks

No wonder it's taking so long to get responses to actual queries about real issues from Case Specific Enquiry and GCMS notes - because people like you are clogging up the system with these useless enquiries.

Thank you. Glad my 1 webform response in 3 months and ordering GCMS notes once has led to clogging up the system. I will get your authorization in the future. Step off your high horse buddy.

No it's fine. You got an AOR in April and immediately needed to know the status of your application not only with a webform enquiry, but also getting your . . . 2 month old GCMS notes. Multiply your actions by 1000s of people. I'll step off my high horse and you stop thinking only about yourself.

I reached out to the GCMS website and they mentioned 3 month - 4 month is a time to order GCMS to understand about eligibility. My file is not as straightforward as others. I need to know analyst or officer comments on a critical aspect so that I can provide more supporting document if needed. I'm in a situation and using all the tools available at disposal to me. I'm not cutting in line of others, from my understanding, webform responses or others are served on an as received basis. It is what it is - if this marks me as selfish, so be it.

Here valid refers to that your documents are in order, and the checks if any are valid, i.e. that have not yet expired. All checks, like medicals, have a time frame for which they are valid.

Thank you for your response @legalfalcon. Hopefully they've at least set up as recommended pass for eligibility. I understand it may be a little early but every step of the PR process, as is the case for others, an anxious one.

I hope to receive the GCMS shortly. ATIP did email me asking for authorization form from spouse as I am the principal applicant but as it will take too long for her to sign and then to mail it to me due to Covid-19. I will then have to sign it and then upload it, I asked ATIP to simply release my information and to redact my wife's information in the email response. Hopefully they do so or do they not release the notes at all in such situation?

All the best. Do not stress out. Immigration is based on law, clear rules. There is no room for speculation. When it doubt, read the law.
