Hi All,

I am in need of some guidance:

I had filed my application on 10th Jul and AoR is dated 25th Jul from UK. Indian citizen.

My application is since then stuck on "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."

I had made a call around 10 days ago and was told that my application is being moved to London and rest all was a wasted discussion.

Is this normal and usual for an application to be stuck in this stage for so long, I believe as per this my BG has also not yet started which many above have stated may also take around 6 months.

Additional Info:

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.

I am completely boggled with what is going on and looking for some advice.

Many Thanks.

Yes, it is completely normal. It can take several months from the time the VO receives the file until they start processing the background.

Our background check and eligibility check have been in progress for 8 months now .... however we are going through the slowest VO on the planet in Mexico City. So yours should be faster than this.

I saw what you're seeing for about 7 months.. It wasn't fun, but I just recently started seeing movement. It seems as though Ottawa is just completely backlogged. You're good. I wouldn't worry.

Thanks Mason, but I doubt Ottawa is backlogged as I know people who applied before, with and after me and all have got their passports back as well ( duration range was in between 1 month and 4 months for them). I guess it is purely on the VO's mood and attitude. But it is atleast reassuring that there are more people sailing in the same boat...

Cheers

Hahaha, You never know if there is another VO in London who is seriously in a mood to compete with the one in Mexico city ;)

I'll let you know when things move here :)

Cheers.

Wait, are you saying that there are people who applied in July 2017 or later and have already gotten their passport back with CoPR? I doubt that.

Affirmative Yes.

Quickest example - My friend in US submitted the application on 15th Aug, sent his passports in 1st week of Sept and got his COPR on 1st or 2nd Oct

Another one in India too got his COPR in Sept - took around 2 months for him.

I think you are confused.

Are you talking about spousal sponsorship?

No, am talking about FSW Outland category.

This is the wrong forum. You are in the family class forum... that is why the timelines you’re talking about aren’t making sense to us. :)

Dear All,

I am PR holder and I have applied through representative for my wife's PR through spousal sponsorship program.

Here is the update when I checked online :

  1. We received your application for permanent residence on June 12, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence on August 16, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  3. July 25th 2017, we have received the request for PCC and fill up schedule A background form and send it within 30 days.

We sent it before that deadline, and we haven't received any response after that. Good thing is we also sent OWP appication along spousal PR application. It got approved and we already got OWP for my wife with two years validity.

Did anyone else fall in this timeline ?

Thanks,
Dilipkumar
