My wife is sponsoring me into Bc Canada under the inland application. We used a layer to helped fill in the paperwork.

And we were told it would take about 3 months before I Would receive an open work permit.

We are now at plus 8 months soon nine months.

Are we only ones experiencing this ?

And what's the thoughts about how it can takes three times as long as predicted?

Are you in status in Canada? What was your status in Canada at the time your application was submitted? Did you submit your OWP along with the inland application? Anything unusual about your relationship or status in Canada? Any chance your application has been sent to the Etobicoke office?

My status right now is temporary resident. And I've got that till mid 2018.
When we filled in the application I was on a tourism visa.

Yes we submitted all of the papers at the same time. Inland sponsorship and open work permit.

I don't think there is anything unusual. We just live together and just got a baby together.

I'm sure the layers sent the application to the correct office in Canada.

Do you know if you paid the correct fee for the work permit 100.+ 155 .. OWP are coming through around 3 to 4 months . I would contact your lawyer and get her/him to make some inquiries .

Yes there was payed I think even a little more than 150 pr application. I've contacted him. He has not been super helpful till this point.

When did you last enter Canada as a visitor (what date)?

No i meant the separate fee for the work permit which comes to $255.00 . then you would have also paid $1040 for the application its self.

This is very unusual to hear. Are you sure your lawyer did not get any response from immigration ??normally opw are taking 4 months with some of them a further 2 weeks so certainly there s something not going according to plan...i would call the lawyer and demand an explanatuon for all this, after all your paying money i m sure.
