Well finally, after all this time, we got our PPR! They actually called us and then sent an email the next day. Yayyyyyyyyyyy! We're so happy :)

Unfortunately Miguel has to land in 3 weeks and I have to stay here in the U.S. because we have a lease. Aghhhhh what to do?!? To further complicate things, I've just found out I'm preggo. Well we never do things the easy way :)

I hope everyone else gets some good news soon with their apps! And again, many thanks to all of you for the great advice we've received during our process!!

Congrats! He can "land" and then go back to the States to settle things and prepare for the move. He'll just need to be able to provide them with an address in Canada where they can send his PR card - and he probably doesn't want to mention that he's not "moving" permanently to Canada on the day of his landing, even though it shouldn't make a difference. Most people aren't prepared to pick up and make an international move in 3 weeks time.

The other thing - he should have with him a CBSA inventory list labeled "Goods to Follow" that lists the things that he's going to import when he does finally move. Submitting this when he lands assures that he won't have to pay duty on his belongings (including vehicles, etc) when you finally do make the move.
