From who on what? Does it show the same in your account? Background check is usually a more detailed investigation into your application to confirm everything you put down is true and you have been in compliance with the conditions of your permit.

Its negative, best case your application will take much longer, worst case if you have provided any wrong info they are more likely to find it.

Oh, I thought it was common as they said that your application is in a normal process and we check everyone's background as it is a requirement. We are currently conducting certain background investigations.

Hi guys. It is a good thread. I heard about such an email a lot. However, I also do not know is this (certain background investigation) different from the background check in our profile? I am for four 5.5 months in "We are processing your background check.". Is this same with "certain background investigation" or not? I raised a webform two weeks ago, and sent my enrollment letter (from fall). However, I did not get any response.

My timeline:
July 4th applied non-SDS (complete application)
July 5th Bio
August 13th got AIP
My school is on the list from Oct 20th.
