If the OP looks at the back of his laptop he will probably find a switch which it allows it to operate on 120V.

Most laptop and mobile chargers have a range of 110-250V so they have no problem working in Canada....

But do check for rating on the chargers before use

If your mobile gets charged by USB as well then your problem is solved for mobile, you can charge it via laptop and for laptop you can buy a simple adapter of 110V

Go out to market and ask for 110V to 220V converter, you will easily find it.

No, 110V to 220V converter. Your source is 110V, it's not 220V.
