your start date will be 1st day of eligibility period thats 15-Nov-2015,Hi Experts,
While filling my absence calculator today I got stuck on how to enter 'Start Date' of my first absence from canada because that absence started before eligible 5 years (15 Nov. 2015 - 15 Nov. 2020) and ended within eligible 5 years, as system doesn't allow to enter any date prior to eligible 5 years start date which is 15 Nov. 2015.
I was away from canada from Dec. 2013 until Nov. 2016 (~3 years). Now Nov. 2016 falls in my 5 year eligibility period but Dec.2013 doesn't, so sytem doesn't allow me to pick Dec. 2013 as start date.
This would be a common scenario for someone who was away from canada for 2 - 3 years after getting PR and now applying for Citizenship.
Please advise. Thanks.
they are only concerned for the eligibility period, before that, they dont really need that information.
hope that helps.
