Hello!

Myself: Jasdir Singh / M / 34 (Married).

Managing a gold jewellery business (Family business) since from 12 years, we are running two successful companies simultaneously at our home town named: Bathinda/Punjab/India. One with the name of "Kundal Jewellers & Manufacturers" and another one with the name of "Kuku Jewellers & manufacturers", we are known for our beautiful traditional and typical gold jewellery designs in the area, we are also known for our very light weighted colourful gem stones jewellery, apart from our beautiful designs we are also known for our quality products such as purity of gold/silver and as well as the durability of the product. Adding more to my introduction/details I also want to add that along with the retail counters we are jewellery retailers cum manufacturers too, as we are goldsmiths by family background, thus we have great interest in designing and manufacturing jewellery of any kind on demand.

Anyways, feeling the above given information about myself enough, for the mean time, and without wasting your expensive time I think I should come to the real point of the topic for which I created it.

Am interested in visiting Canada, purpose of my visiting Canada is to collect the information/knowledge about.. For example: What/which kind of jewellery is mostly liked by the people over there ? what are the T&C of the state/country to start any new jewellery counter over there ? or perhaps we can just export our jewellery over there ? is it beneficial for us to start any new jewellery business/export in Canada ? many more questions in my mind etc.. and in order to collect all such information/knowledge I need to visit Canada, may be for once or multiple times.

Thus, am seeking to apply for Canadian Multiple Visa (Temporary), and regarding this issue am having few questions to the visa experts on this board.
- Am I, eligible to apply for this visa type ?
- Am I, eligible to apply for this visa type, even if am not having any relative/friend in Canada ? (just asking this question because somebody told me that its compulsory to have any relative/friend in Canada to apply for this visa type)
- If am eligible for this visa type, than which/what documents I need to have ?
- If am not eligible for this visa type, than for which visa type should I go for ?
- or what should I do to qualify for Canadian visa ?

All opinions are wholeheartedly welcome, So hoping soon for the replies.
_/\_ Namaste, to all of you, tell then :)

Just to add, if you want to start a business in Canada then you will first need to become a permanent resident of Canada.

Firstly, thank you so much for your reply, Scylla :)

Secondly, it written that you may also need a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada (In the link you provided)
So, from where to get this invitation letter ?

Waiting soon for your next reply,
Nice to meet you :)
_/\_Namaste, till then.

Scylla, before planning to start any new business in any new region I have couple of questions in my mind such as.. What/which type of jewellery is mostly liked by the people of that region?
What/which type of jewellery is the part of daily life among the people of that region?
Which place is perfect and affordable for me to start any new workshop and business/retail counter over there?
What are the T&C of that state/country to fulfil before starting any new work ?
What are the rules and regulations of that region to start any new business ?
At which cost can I get skilled labour in that region for my service centre, or workshop etc.. ?
Many more such questions in my mind.

And finally after gaining/getting all the required information which I think I need to collect, Than I would be able to decide the Business-Type and the final budget before proceeding to start this new work. Thus, with so many question in mind, Scylla, don't you think that I need to visit Canada and its business places before starting any new work over there ? :)

Well, all of your tips and opinions are wholeheartedly welcome, and am sure that I will get more from you. :)
So, waiting soon for you next reply.
_/\_ Namaste, till then.

The invitation letter would be from someone you know in Canada (family member, close friend). If you don't know anyone in Canada then you can't get an invitation letter and will have to apply without one.

Canada has people from all over the world. There is no type of jewellery that is liked more in Canada than all of the others. You see everything here.

It is usually better to try to set up a business in a large city. However cities are more expensive. No matter where you run a business in Canada, expect it to be a lot more expensive to run the business here than it is in India.

As I mentioned earlier, you will not be able to set up a business in Canada until you are a permanent resident. I would focus on first determining how you will become a permanent resident before you start worrying about how you will set up your business. You can find information about how to become a permanent resident in the link below (there are several different programs):

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

Since you want to run a business in Canada, you may want to look into the Start Up Visa immigration program:

So, Scylla, you mean am eligible to apply without an invitation letter, right ?

Firstly, Scylla thank you so much for taking time to provide me the links, and your valuable inputs :)

Secondly, still I don't think that you are understanding my point very clearly, Perhaps its my fault of explaining it clearly. English is not my first language, but still I hope you will not mind bearing the patience with my English, Grammar, or understandings.

BTW, putting it another way my point is that... in the first place am interested in visiting Canada just as a tourist, finally which will lead me to the decision whether or not I will be able to work there or not. And in the second step I will be deciding to apply for permanent resident to start a business. So, which visa type should I go for ?

Waiting soon for your reply,
Nice to meet you, and "_/\_ Namaste" till then :)
