Hi Everyone
I have extremely bad credit. It's as bad as it can be. I was unemployed for almost 4 years and couldn't pay my debt and I don't think I ever will be able to. I have not filed for bankruptcy and wish not to. So far I've been able to dodge the debt collectors and to my knowledge the bad credit scores will drop off my record after 7 years (about two years from now)
I understand that one of the prerequisites for being a spousal sponsor is that a person either has not filed for bankruptcy or has been discharged, and I presume the only way that CIC can check this is to do a credit check.
My questions are: When they see my bad credit rating will my application be refused?
Should I rather declare my bad financial situation on my application or just leave it out?
Thank you
Gary
