Hello everyone !

thanks in advance for your response. I and my hubby got our PRs last september and my daughter was born 2 years ago in Canada. I want to apply PR for my father (he is about 70 yrs old and diabetic) want to know how difficult it is to get and how long does it take.

you can look onto super visa am not very sure how it works , I think your parents have to pay for thier health insurance and they can stay a bit long or extend it

The parent sponsorship will open for a limited time jan 2015 for first 5000 completed application. First come first serve basis. You would be required to show proof of income that meet 2011, 2012 and 2013 lico minimum income requirement for a family of 4. (3 of you and 1, your father). Not only maintain the past lico but also maintain the lico requirement during the whole pr process until your father lands as PR. CIC will likely be asking for proof of this before granting your father PR status. Failure to meet the requirement can void your father's PR. Keep in mind that the whole PR process can take up to 5 years before the father lands.

Also note that your father will be subject to passing an immigration medical examination before being approved.

Parents PR has become very difficult for many people. Super visa is much easier compared to PR and also quick provided you submit a complete application. You will have to bear medical expenses of your father while he is in Canada.

Thanks to everyone who responded !

i think i'll opt for supervisa..
