Hi All,

Here would like to tell you about my file. and it gone through ups and downs....

As I did put my file from London in Feb 2010. Got the docs request on 29th March 2010. Because of some family reason I had to move back home in India in April. After coming back to India I prepared all my docs and sent it to London office end of July before that 120 days deadline. I received a letter from the London office on 12th of August attached a receipt with the letter and the new file number too. I guess that is the AOR we talking. What happened before the submission that I would like to tell you. I have given IELTS. My points, I reached exactly on 67. But unfortunately I didn't manage to score in speaking. I needed to achieve 6 but got 5.5 and I was pretty confident that wasn't the score, I was expecting. As I have already achieved 7.5 in IELTS speaking Academic. So sent it back for the reassessment. and got it back with the new score 6.5. And sent it to the london office. As docs firstly i have sent to the london office that was with the old IELTS result. And the new certificate I have sent it to them in August separately. I hope they have considered the new result. I am worried because I sent the new result after the deadline. I had no choice to send the file with the first result. So finally again managed to make 67. In September we got a baby. So one more person added in our file it became three now. In December I did send all the required docs for my baby's application with the passport copy form and fees.
Now the AOR which we received in 12th of August in that letter they have mentioned. If you don't get any reply from our end for the next 8 months you need to contact us. This file procedure will take up to 8 to 12 months.
Now my queries are....
1. Should I contact them as 8 months got over in 12th April? (as they said to count 8 months from the day when i got that letter)
2. Have they accepted my file?
3. I hope there isn't any issue for the IELTS result. I have asked them via email about the the docs i have sent and kindly to attach it with my file number.
4. What would be my chances in this case?

Hey jal,

Look at my details on the left. They told me to contact after 3 months if u don't receive anything. I send them case specific inquiry and got stupid standard reply. So there is no use of mailing them.
I think they will consider your new cert coz in my case, My college transcripts were sent to them by my college and I also mail them to consider their post in my account like you. So don't worry bout that.
Everything will be alright coz I know u are afraid of being rejected, but I think everything is good with ur case. God bless.

4. What would be my chances in this case?
1. If they gave an 8 month timeframe and you have not heard within those 8 months, then I would contact them, since they are inviting you to do so.
2. No idea yet, that's for the immigration officer to decide
3. In my view, the immigration officer when he looks at your file will accept the most recent IELTS score available on file, not just the first one sent. So as long as they correctly associated the new score with your file this IMO is fine.
4. Once again that's something only the immigration officer can decide

Personally I would contact them, saying that the 8 months has passed and you have heard nothing. Also ask them to confirm they have received the new documents regarding your baby, and ask them if they have received and accepted your new IELTS results.

Wishing you the best of luck,
Wayne.
