Hi,
Here is my situation:

I have a question about Canadian Work Experience and Express entry profile:
So following is my situation:
I used to be an international student. I got my PGWP in this year March 2016.
I applied for PGWP in November 2015.
But the thing is , I started my full-time job just on the next day after completion my studies which is from 1st September,2015. last year.

So now, i m going to apply for PR by creating express entry profile:
So what will be the duration of my Canadian work experience ??
Is it September 2015(the day i finished my full-time studies and started full-time job) till now?
Is it November 2015(the day i applied for work permit) till now??
Is it considered from March 2016(the day i received my PGWP)? ???

[for your information]
From September 2015 to November 2015, i was waiting for my study permit extension(in progress..)..(since my study permit

expired in July 2015). but i was eligible to work full-time since i was not full-time student and under study permit

extension's implied status.

From November 2015 to March 2016: working under new study permit (during this time, PGWP in progress..)
From March 2016: working under PGWP

I would really appreciate your help and support guys.. Thanks.
:)

Technically, you should be considered as a foreign worker once you graduated and applied for PGWPP, if your PGWPP's 3 year validation date coincides with the date you applied (SEPT 2015), that should prove it too.
If you explain your case properly, I guess you should be able to apply but it would be nice to consult more people.

Cheers.

Hi Patel,

Work start date : 1-Sep-2015,
PGWP applied date : X-Nov-2015
PGWP issue date : X-March-2016

1) From 1-Sep-2015 till X-Nov-2015, you would have been under study permit. This experience will not be counted for CEC.

2) From X-Nov-2015 till 9-Sep-2016, you have 44 weeks and 5 days. As you mentioned that you are working full-time, (44*30=1320hrs). You may need to complete 7-8 more full-time weeks.

As per this link (http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-186.html), work experience under implied status looks like legal experience.

Hope this gives you a good insight

One thing, When did you apply your post-graduate work permit (PGWP)? The above explanation is based on the assumption that you applied for your PGWP on some day of November 2015.

Almost every student asks this question, there are dozens of posts every week, please feel free to search the forum.

1. The rules are that you can count the experience if you are no longer a full-time student. That means that the last semester in which you were enrolled has officially ended, and/or you that you have graduated from your program.

2. In practice, VOs look at the start date of the PGWP. If you want them to look at a different start date, you need to write a letter of explanation about the months preceding the PGWP - (I stoppped being a full-time student on "DATE" when I graduated" so the work experience should be considered from Sept 1 2015 )

3. You will need to include proof of the date that you stopped being a full-time student (e.g. copy of diploma that indicates the graduation date, or a letter from the Registrar).
