It is your country and home-land when you become Canadian, and from reading your post and what you are trying to do, this will be a very long process for you since the citizenship officers hopefully will recognize your scheme and put your file at the bottom of the heap

To revisit the risks would be RQ issuance impacting on the RO. The Citizenship Act refers to 1095 days in the 4 years prior to application date but not only does it have to be provable its the case that CIC can and do derail those they deem (whatever view one may take) to be applying on their way to the airport. You are in a fast Local Office so even if RQd your RO may not be impacted....if you get sent to the CJ though???

What Msafiri meant is that you should maintain your PR status until you take the oath, even if you already meet the citizenship residency requirements.

Intel on point. A fast local office means RQ is less of an issue but being sent to the CJ means you will breach your RO. I don't think you will get any more than you have from the forum...you've taken the job so deal with the situation as it evolves even if it means quitting....but those ME contracts can have some tough exit conditions eh....you may want to find out if the 'employer' gets to keep your passport or has to authorize your 'exit' from said country....even paradise can be hell if you can't get out!

Thank you very much for your kind, encouraging reply. Thank you for feeling the empathy. Well, frankly speaking, the offer right now is once in a life time kind of opportunity. These kinds of offers are seldom received. Therefore, I wanna avail that. Living in my current salary is a herculean task. I brought around 50,000 to Canada out of which I got only approx. nothing left.

To support my family, I need a minimum of 3 to 4 thousand a month but you know Canadian economy is facing problems in several areas and mine atop them all.

I'll take some professional opinion on this!! Will keep posting.

3000 to 4000 a month is quite a lot
You may have to work part time in Canada.
You can leave Canada while waiting but not too long though, a few weeks would be a okie but more than 6 months can be a problem.

It all depends how the CO preceives this...
Some may take it as a (-)ve and some as a (+)ve...Given the circumstances of the CIC; they are more inclined to take that as a (-)ve...
Let the turn of events take place and leave it to the CIC to decided.
Once you are a citizen you are free to move anywhere you wish; but as long as you are a PR, the ball is in CIC's court and they can take whatever measure to process your case (RQ or No-RQ).

Is it a good reason that I was not able to make my ends meet for the last 3 years and a half. I needed money to make a down payment to mortgage a house. That's why, I left my family in Canada and went for a 10 months contract. Additionally, with my international experience, I have better scope and better chances to find a better job in Canada.

Is it a proof to ties with Canada if I mortgage a house here in Canada. Keep money in my children's RESP account. Deposit money in my Canadian bank account on monthly basis. Keep applying for jobs in Canada through jobbank.com

My two cents: nothing in the current citizenship act says that you cannot leave Canada and go work abroad while your application is in process. However, it appears that CIC resents those who do, and since they cannot legally deny their application, often they try to make their life harder by giving them a RQ and extending processing times in hopes that they will fail to comply with their PR requirements (you can only be abroad for 3 out of 5 years). Hence the reason they are trying to change the law and introduce an intent to reside clause.

The main takeaway here is that you have the law by your side. CIC may not like it, but as long as you meet the requirements, they cannot legally deny your application.

And what are you going to tell the officer when you come back for the test after being 2.5 years outside Canada from your job in the Middle East, that you came for the test then you are going back the next day. What impressions are you giving them that you want to live in Canada? What benefit are you to the Canadians apart from paying taxes? You probably applied as a Federally Skilled worker because Canada needs you, then you decided to leave the minute you are eligible for Citizenship? this is an indication that you are not here in Canada for the Love of Canada, but for the Love of the Passport. This is called being a leech. Some people try to be nice and give a sugar coated reply. I give the answers that everyone wish to say. I don't care if you don't like the reply, this is my opinion and the opinion of many others as well.

Citizenship is about identity, not about allegiance.
