Waiving IELTS for study permit application

Thanks for all the replies, I would give the IELTS but timing maybe an issue, getting a test date in July, after I get an admit by June end, and then waiting 15 days for the results. It was pretty much last minute decision to go to Canada for MS.

If I were to apply for study permit around Aug 1...what are chances of getting an approval for fall 2012 ?

They don't accept applications after 1st Aug I think, but if you apply just before, you'll most likely make it through.

We strongly recommend that you submit your application at least three months ahead of your proposed date of travel. Applications that are received after 01 April for May entry, after 01 August for September entry and after 01 December for January entry will not normally be processed in time for the start of classes and will likely be refused."
