waiver for language test

Hi,

I'm currently preparing for the CEC immigration paperwork. Just wondering whether I'm able to avoid the language test to save a couple of hundred dollars registration fee.
I have a U.S. Ph.D degree and I'm currently working as a post-doc research fellow in an University. I also teach one undergraduate level class. I have a number of publications to prove my English writing skill. However my native language is not English.
I'll appreciate any suggestions/comments.

nope,english language testing is a must. without it, they will refuse ur application

the only time english tests are waived is when applying for citizenship - you are allowed to present credentials obtained through institutions where english is the primary language of instruction (for your degree). otherwise and as the rest have said, it is required for everyone..

it sucks, I know! in the same boat as you. wish I could just show my diploma, instead of wasting almost $500 on this nonsense. but such is life..

I was born in the US, went to McGill for elementary education and English literature, and tutored ESL /IELTS for 5 years and I STILL had to take IELTS....

Agree with sashali78! First time I heard someone with 9. I had 8.5 and same with other native speakers that were there with me. Impressive Johnny..

I worked at the language school across from the school that I took my IELTS in, so I actually took the test with some of my students.
