Waiting too long to get work permit

Hi,

I submitted my work permit application online on july 4th and after waiting 80days i received an update asking me to submit my passport at VFS global,which submitted on 26th september, now the status shows "your appilcation is being processed at Canada visa office,bangalore"

Is there any reason y the process taking much time nowadays?

If anyone in a similar situation like me, please share your experiences

I submitted mine on 5th August and I am still waiting for the passport request. Mine was submitted in Pretoria, South Africa.

Currently the processing times for a work permit application on CIC website indicate:

South Africa - 17 weeks
India - 14 weeks

Your processing time has been roughly 12 weeks according to the dates you mentioned so you are still within the average processing time. I can only imagine that the long wait is due to the volume of applications received. I am currently on 55 days and still waiting for the passport request.

I think you will have roughly 2 or so weeks left until you receive your passport back, but it can be sooner or later...good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the update and congratulation!! I am still waiting, 67 days for me now and I have had no feedback at all :'( I will update this as and when I receive news...
