Waiting period after medical-PHILIPPINES!!!

@Doda You're correct. If you're a foreign national living in the UK and you've been staying in UK for some time already, then you'll be exempted. I was wrong in my previous post. It's not African but Middle Eastern applicants for certain types of visa that are processed in London and are required to have medicals.

I'll just ask you if what I plan to do can make a positive difference on how my application is processed. I intend to go to the embassy and submit my documents in paper including the confirmation that my online application was received and a cover latter explaining why I'm doing it.

Why do you want to do that? You've already submitted everything online. I tried to add information after submitting, like new financial documents and a SOP, but they replied that if they need anything at this stage, they will tell me to submit it. I don't know if this will effect your process or not, but defiantly you don't need a SOP, specially at this stage. What is the time-frame for processing applications in Manila? But believe me, if you have passed the average processing times with no answer, that is a big positive sign, or what I'm hoping for
My bottom line is, stick to your required list of documents, and don't worry, if you're a genuine student, and believe me they can tell, you'll get accepted.

@Doda I'm worried that my application could have gone down the drain, that the VO missed it. Average handling time is 13 weeks. Based on some people in this forum, medical examination to decision will weeks. Applied last April 19 and heard nothing since then. Not even a request to have my medicals done. Now on my 13th week. If I will not hear from them this week, I will definitely inquire on Monday to learn more on my status. By the way, I will not be submitting new documents; just the originals and cover letter explaining my case (not an SOP which I previously provided). Are you advising me to keep it cool until Monday and just follow what's in the guidelines.

Yes, please keep cool and approach them by a case specific inquire first. My processing visa timeline here in London is 8 weeks, and in fact it was working like clockwork before the 3rd of June, the day when the negotiations broke down. All whom I knew here on the forum , either accepted or rejected, got their response in 8 exact weeks. Now everything is messed up because of the strike, and the officers are not working, so don't be worried if you weren't asked for your medicals yet, everything has slowed down dramatically in all the CHC's all over the world. Just send them a case specific inquire first,and you don't have to wait till the 13 weeks have finished, send one now and stating that you're processing time has been 13 weeks now and ask for the status. I asked for my status at week 7, 10, and 12

@Doda I actually sent them an inquiry using the online case-specific facility. Got no response. Sent it last June 20. Exactly 8 weeks since I applied. Just received an autoreply saying they'll attend to it within 28 days. Also written in the autoreply reads something like do not expect a reply if your application is still within the average handling time. The process is becoming a pain in the a**! Frustration starts the creep in... Can't finalize travel plans...

Yes, I know what you mean, same situation here, the tickets are way much expensive now than i anticipated. mmmm I don't know, but you can pay them a visit. Hopefully it could shed some light on your situation, It shouldn't harm your application, but it might not speed it up.

Hi, you would need to coordinate with the college/university. Check your acceptance letter as it should state there the conditions for deferral.

RoyalAngel Opo may natanggap na po akong update. Ang sabi ng embassy "We are just waiting for your medical results. Aside from that you all meet the requirements for visa issuance. As soon as we have the results we will contact you". Unfortunately, hindi pa ako nakakapagpamedical kasi hindi pa ako nakakatanggap ng request. Weird lang...

@Royangel: Got a passport request on July 20th from the CEM (I just read it last night because of their website maintenance). The email said "A decision has been made..." It didnt say much but hoping for good news. I hope you get an email soon too.Good luck to us all

HopefulAngel good as visa issuance na yan. Kasi kung iisipin mo ano naman ang gagawin nila sa passport mo kung hindi ni tatatakan ng visa. Congratulations!

Wow hopefulangel! For sure good news na yan .. Sana by next week makuha ko na rin passport ko with visa nrin sana. ... halos sabay lng din kc tayo ngpamedical , i did mine june 14 , did You contact st lukes kung napass na nila ung result mo?? Royalangel14 It took them 2 days to reply. Maybe factor din na lampas na ako ng average handling time. April 20 pa kasi ako nag-apply at never ako nakareceive ng kahit anong request galing sa embassy. May sablay din ang naging reply nila kasi ang sabi ifafinalize daw nila ang application ko kapag natanggap na nila ang medical results ko. Kaya lang paano nga magkakamedical results kung wala pang request. Hopefully makatanggap ulit ako ng email today kasi nireplyan ko sila last Sunday.
