Waiting on passport return

. Passport sent on the 9th, received by visa office on the 13th of November. The end of this week makes a full month working week. And next week Wednesday makes a full month since passport sent and received.

At this point I don't even know if I'll get to spend Christmas with my family.

Anyone have any idea of if my passport is going to be returned before the holidays? How long is visa office allowed to keep passport before it past due

Which VO did you send your passport to? They all have different processing times. Ottawa is quite backed up at the moment, for example. But still shouldn't take more than 3 weeks.

The nice thing about VOs (except CPC-M) is that you can actually email them. Have you emailed them about it?

You need to write your VO a well explained and heartfelt email, especially if this is your very first ever enquiry. They will hear you. Tell them you have read on here of people saying they received their passport back at most after two weeks and yours has not been returned to you. Tell them also you worry about it being lost during the Christmas holidays and most importantly that you were planning of having your family together for Christmas. All the best.
