What is checked in criminality? Does it check travel history? I have just a few visits.... Thailand thrice, Malaysia once, Australia once and my spouse has a UK visit. All trips were recreational purposes

No travel history falls under security. Criminality is based on provided PCC's, pretty straight forward

Got the PR request email today.
So, from AOR (July17) to PPR ( Sept 1), a total of 43 days (including weekends), for FSW-INland stream.. Great turnaround for a department accused of being slow!!

Stuck in IP2 for a month. I dont think I will ever get GOLDEN EMAIL. Lots of applicants from Pakistan, Iraq, Iran and Egypt are facing this dilemma. The Govt of Canada does not want any person from these countries to come and settle into Canada. Only a few applicants get PR from these 4 countries. As I have seen on other forums, many many of them are stuck in IP2, PCC etc for no clear reason. Majority of them get stuck due to Security Screening which by itself is a lengthy process. Send email to Ottawa office to find out your status. Most probably you will have reply like "Your file is under review, we need some additional verifications". The purpose of this message is to discourage you from coming and settling in Canada. No worries Govt of Canada. I am a talented person, gonna start my PhD next month. PR is not the end. IF YOU ARE GONNA SELECT CANDIDATES FROM PAKISTAN, IRAN, IRAQ AND EGYPT for security screening, simply announce that nobody is allowed from these coutries to create profile in EE. We have wasted lot of time, money. Does not make alogic.

I doubt this is the case. I am from India and currently reside in Dubai. And my file is stuck in IP2 since a month and half. Be patient. The timelines are all based on the VO. And unfortunately, I believe I am from LVO. So the wait is long but definitely will happen. I have seen a lot of people from Pakistan and Egypt get PR and in quick time.

Just relax and I advise you not to think on these discriminatory lines. As you said in your post, you're and talented person and planning to pursue a Phd. Thus thoughts like this are not really progressive I would say.
