Hi everyone, I haven't check the website for a while, I hope everyone is doing great.

A little bit update about my case here, after getting the AIP at late Sep, my ex-husband received a mail from Hong Kong office which asked my son to provide IMM0008 & 5669 at the beginning Oct. They sent those paper yesterday since we were not sure if my son should provide other docs ( such as birth certificate....etc) or not, so we still prepared some these kinda docs for Hong Kong office.

I'm not sure what is going to happen next, I deeply hope it won't take too long to me because I just found I'm having a decayed tooth and I'm planning to see dentist at my hometown since it's too expensive to see a doctor here.

Well, all I can do is praying. I hope everyone here can get good news before X'mas, so all of us can really have a Merry X'mas.

Have a good weekend first :) :)

Hi guys! I'd like to join you here. I am in the same situation like you are. I received AIP letter on April 2011 and than applied for OWP, which I have received recently. And that's all (((. Just waiting. I didn't order FOSS notes, but I think about it.
And I have a question. Does anybody know which is my local office? I live in Mississauga. And what is waiting time in it?
Thaks ))
I believe i Misisaga officeand the waiting time is the same as any in Canada. According to their website is 8 months now. Good luck and a lot of patience!!!

sure I will, but local offices do not answer by phone ,just their fax # is known. so I have to go and visit their front desk I hope.and if i phone the 1-888 number, they may tell me the same old story,"your case is in process".so i should go to the front desk.

Still nothing from me. I called Friday and they said they're working on additional info from late August. I sent in my police certificate at the end of September. So...probably another month of waiting. They also said they're working on my police report from RCMP, so thats good news.

Hello everybody! Looks like I'm going to join this thread too :)
I just got 2 letters from CIC in the mail today- nearly gave me a heart attack- one was my OWP, and the other was to confirm my permanent residence application has received initial approval.
I'm really glad to see that my case is coming along, but on the other hand I have a feeling my PR might be a while. My family's immigration/citizenship status is a tad complicated and apparently, according to my letter, they will do background checks even for my family members that will not accompany me to Canada. SIGH.

Time line:
App sent: Jan 24 2010
App received: Jan 27 2010
Started processing: Mar 8 2010
ecas update that the Meds were received: Jan 20 2011
OWP: Jan 18 2011 (date on letter)

Good luck to us all!!

Just wanted to give this a bump. From my previous post, they asked for a re-do of medicals and now I'm just waiting on them to finish with my background checks. :(

Sorry I forgot to update my case here...

As some members from 2010 inland might know that already that I've got DM last week.

My timeline:

We received your application for permanent residence on November 3, 2010.

We started processing your application on December 16, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

We sent you a letter on March 16, 2012 to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, British Columbia, Canada, V9R 4K7 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

I received the letter on Mar 23 and also a phone call from local office at the same day that regarding landing on Apr 2. The second stage took me exactly 6 months after AIP.

I was not asked for any other docs besides my son's app as I mentioned at previous post. The only thing I'd like to share is if you decide to get your OWP then be sure you really need it, such as you've got a job offer something like that. what happened to me is I applied my OWP on Mar 3rd because the I thought my case might take another 3 months even longer which call center told me that too, also because my visitor record is going to be expired on Apr 4. So I thought to get an OWP then get a job might be better for me. After around a week after I applied OWP online, I noticed I got DM and then they signed my OWP just one day before they made final decision. So, that kinda meant I received a useless OWP if it makes sense to you guys. The other thing seems "funny" to me is since the lading date is Apr 2, so the date my "old" visitor record is actually still fine to me....... well, yes, i throw $150 to the garbage can....

Hope you guys won't get me wrong, I'm not really complaining, I was just trying to make you smile...
To give my best wishes to everyone here who's still waiting and please don't give it up, I truly believe the happiness will come to you soon.
