True. i can't understand their logic. Under express entry they are giving PRs in 4-6 months and then PR card in another 3 months....Tonimir said:I can't understand, why issuing a plastic card, that does not require any background check (you already landed!) is demanding 3+ months to produce! This is just a mystery for me.
Sorry to inform you, your immigrant visa is NOT valid after landing, since it is a one-entry visa. You can leave Canada by air, but you cannot return by a commercial vehicle (plane, train, bus) without your PR card UNLESS you land in the USA (if you have or don't need a visa for USA) and then drive to the Canadian border (by private car or a rent-a-car).freeday1919 said:i guys,
I have a question, so apparently when I landed as a PR, the officer took my current work permit and but I have my conformation of PR with me.
I was planning to go out of Canada by air for couple days and I was wondering, when I get back to canada, is my current visa that still valid to enter canada and my confirmation of PR will be able to make me enter canada ?
Because usually the border officer at the airport look for a work permit but it has been taken away from me.
Thanks in advanced.
no. once you land, you're not a foreign worker with work permit, but a permanent resident. you can try to get in with landing paper if you're from visa exempt county. If you're not, you need travel document (applied from Canadian embassy outside of Canada $50) to get in or a physical PR card. You can travel by car with landing paper, so if you live closer to border city, you can fly back to US, then drive up to Canada by car.freeday1919 said:i guys,

If you don't have time to get travel document (usually 7~14 days to get), you can risk it, but I advise not going anywhere until you have PR card.

And it is normal they took your work permit, because after landing every other visa and permit becomes invalid (since you can work and study as a PR without a permit). They took my visitor record at landing, too.

I'm going to leave next weekend I don't that travel document will be out even If I applied tomorrow.
What if I cameback to canada by commercial bus thru the border with my COPR ? IS It possible ?
This is depressing since I really need to go out and came back days later... it stupid I think, since if I'm not landed yet, I can still enter canada normally but after landed I can't.
Sorry, many people face the same problem, but unfortunately that is the way it is. You cannot enter by bus either, only by private car or rent-a-car.freeday1919 said:even if i still have a valid canadian visa ( i applied for canadian entry visa under my work permit that was taken ) its a multiple entry and still valid, i cant get in by air ?

When did PR card processing appeared in ECAS for you?pnppeeps said:landed on April 8th, the card was sent out on june 23rd shows on ecas, hopefully i will get it next week
Don't get your hopes up, only a small percentage of residents get any PR card status in ECAS :hime said:When did PR card processing appeared in ECAS for you?
Landed on 12th April 2015. Today is the 76th calendar day (as per their processing time guideline, I should have received cards by now). When I arrived, timeline was only 41 days.spaceexp said:Don't get your hopes up, only a small percentage of residents get any PR card status in ECAS :
