Hello everyone, My Timeline
Landed Dec 24 2015 (Douglas, "Peace Arch" BC )
I got request for new photo. Mar 16 2016
131 days since landing

Now my question is, Is this normal? I mean I have been waiting since Dec for my PR card, and in March I get hit with a new photo request by mail. Is there anyone with similar timelines?
Its funny you think the process is over once you land, but truly there is way more to the process once your here Sad
Everyone who landed between October 2015 and January 3rd 2016 had to re-submit photos because CIC is stupid.

Further, CIC waited till the PR Card application was at least 4 months old to send out re-submit notices.

If they were really too stupid to use the original PR card photo format they should have notified everyone on January 3rd, but instead they bought themselves some more time by waiting 4 months.

Now because PR Card applications from 2015 are more than (6 weeks + 46 days) old CIC will ignore them till there are no PR applications in the system between (46 days) and (46 days + 6 weeks). The magic formula is [current processing time + 6 week mailing allowance].

Hey all,

Saw some posts about ECAS...my husband landed Apr 1 and ECAS is still showing DM (ha ha ha)

I thought someone had posted a spreadsheet for those waiting for PR card...but I can't seem to find it. Can someone re-post?

Anyone who was processed via ADVO, I added a column to the spreadsheet for PR card...can you go and add your PR received date? (or add your timeline if you didn't previously). It really helps others.

Hope all is well,

JAN. 17TH 2016 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello everyone,

My wife landed since January and she recently got a request to submitt new passport photos for the PR card.

However, the e-mail doesn't specify the number of pictures needed.

Can someone tell me how many pics are needed ?

Thanks !

Two passport size pictures.

Good luck ever getting that card, you're in my boat now.

It's it hilarious that it took them 5 months to figure out your pictures needed to be resubmitted?
Just imagine how many more months it's going to take them to finally get you your card.

Are you sure it's passport size. We were given the spec sheet below which was slightly different to the passport size.

To my eyes these guidelines appear to be identical.

Here is the passport guideline:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/passport/apply/photos.asp

Passport:
Taken in person by a commercial photographer.
50 mm wide X 70 mm high (2 inches wide X 2- 3/4 inches long) and sized so the height of the face measures between 31 mm (1- 1/4 inches) and 36 mm (1- 7/16 inches) from chin to crown of head (natural top of head).
Clear, sharp and in focus.
Photos may be in colour or in black and white.
Taken with a neutral facial expression (eyes open and clearly visible, mouth closed, no smiling).
Taken with uniform lighting and not show shadows, glare or flash reflections.
Taken straight on, with face and shoulders centered and squared to the camera.
Taken in front of a plain white or light-coloured background with a clear difference between your face and the background. Photos must reflect/represent natural skin tones.
Original photos that are not altered in any way or taken from an existing photo.

PR Card:
Taken by a commercial photographer
50 mm x 70 mm (2 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches long) and sized so the height of the face measures between 31 mm and 36 mm (1 1/4 inches and 1 7/16 inches) from chin to crown of head (natural top of head)
Clear, sharp and in focus.
Taken with a neutral facial expression (eyes open and clearly visible, mouth closed, no smiling).
Taken with uniform lighting and not show shadows, glare or flash reflections.
Taken straight on, with face and shoulders centred and squared to the camera (i.e. the photographs must show the full front view of the person’s head and shoulders, showing full face centred in the middle of the photograph).
Taken in front of a plain white background with a clear difference between the person’s face and the background. Photographs must reflect/represent natural skin tones

You're right those specifications are identical.
You would think they would have just one sheet labelled passport and PR card photo specifications.

They are stupid. That's why there's separate sheets.

The same reason they have like 15 scattered OWP fees you have to pay instead of one "OWP fee".
Stupid stupid stupid people.

Hey all,

It was 60 days yesterday so I decided to give the call centre a call. It took me 4 tries to get through (first three they were so busy I didn't even get to the queue). Then I asked if my husband's PR card had been mailed yet and thry couldn't give me info without a use of representative form on file. The consent for ATIP won't work. So I Skyped my husband so he could ask them directly. I found out it was mailed May 24 but to my permanent residence address...not the address we gave them when he landed. I was so frustrated! Anyways, after some phone calls thru the property manager etc we have the card.

So...if you are past 51 days from your landing, call CIC and see what is up or check your old addresses.

It will be about the fifth time that we are trying to update our address with CIC.
