How long does it take to receive a FBI clearance?
My spouse in in the states and I am planning to send my CEC application by mid-aug.I was planning to send the PCC after I receive the AOR. Is there a suggestion as to when I can ask my spouse to apply for FBI Clearance?
Also , for how long is a FBI clearance certificate valid?

I don't know if this helps you, but i used to live in USA also and i applied for PCC from the FBI. It took them almost 4 weeks to charge my credit card from the time they OPENED my application and another 2 weeks until it was mailed out. It was mailed out 2 days ago, so i am expecting it soon.

Also, just because they receive your application does not mean they will open it and start processing right away. They usually have 2 weeks of backlog

Also, i was able to find out that its been mailed by calling the FBI CJIS Customer Service Group at 304-625-5590. They can usually give you progress details if its already been a few weeks.

I would suggest to apply right after getting AOR. That way, you'll have plenty of time to submit it to cic

I sent request for FBI PCC on 25th June 2014 and since 29th June it's showing status 'processed through sort facility isc new york ny(usps)' . Anyone faced similar situation? It's been 15 days it's stuck there.

I believe it got delivered. And the status just never got updated. So don't worry about it.

It's been one month now, still showing no update.

I believe it got delivered. And the status just never got updated. So don't worry about it.

Friends, I need to do PCC from USA. Please guide:

- PCC needs to be done for both the primary applicant and accompany spouse rite? So can we send 2 separate money orders ($18 each) to pay the fees to FBI or can send single money order($36) for both of us in the same package.
- How long will it take by VO(visa officer) to request for PCC once application reaches them! Since PCC from US will take 4-6 weeks, is it advisable to start the process now or wait until VO requests for it?

If anyone done PCC in US, then please shed some more light on it. Thanks!
