Waiting for passport request

Hi, I applied BC PNP 2009 November. I got my medical checked in July 8th 2010. The clinic sent results out in July 16th 2010. It 's been 2 and half months and i am still waiting for my passport request. I am a little impatient. My old passport is expired in March 2011. Do i need to get a new one?

Your visum will expire one year after you had your medical exam, july 8th. So if your passport expires before that date you have less time left. An other reason for getting a new pasport is that when you are in canada getting a new passport may be more expensive and more time consuming.

So, should i apply for a new passport now? what if CIC requires my passport soon? Should i wait until i get my permanent residence then apply for a new passport?

in my own opinion you should renew it now. so that it wont cause you any delayed
in future coz you have barely 5 months b4 your old passport expired.

yes, it's better for you to renew it now and i think CIC also prefers machine readable passport.

I sent it to Bufflo.

I did the medical check on July 8 too, file is now under processing by Buffalo office too, we are applying PNP NB .

I trust Buffalo is overloaded with too many cases..
