Hi,
no appointment needed if landing at the border. You need an appointment only if you plan to land inland at a CIC office.

Seniors, Please help me,
I came to Canada as student permit , finished study working over a year, now my question is

-While I applied student visa, in family story my agent didn't add my brother name in application , which I didn't notice at that time.
-Right now after received ITA, I am filling up my PR application , in family story I want to add my brother name.
-Would that be any problem or any negative effect in my PR application, since the extra information.
-Will CIC ask any question why his name wasn't in my application, while I applied student visa.
-Does application information has to be same , while I applied student permit and current PR application !!!
Any response will be highly appreciated .

As it takes long timeto get PR card after landing, I am planning to land at the time of coming back from my country at august.

Can you guys please share, how much time (Expiry date) it is allowed on the immigrant visa? I am afraid that I might get a immigrant visa with a short expiry date and might have to land before I leave Canada in July.


My timeline:

CIC application: June 2, 2014
Medical Done: August 24, 2014
PP request: April 11, 2015
PP sent: April 13, 2015

YOu have not received your PP back yet :-X
Check your tracker, you might get it back soon. Do landing next day possible. You will get your card in 25-20 business days which is approx 6- weeks.
I would suggest not to leave the country with your card. You have enough time. DO not delay your landing.

Hello folks,
I sent my passport on 24th ape, 2015 last Friday.
Expected delivery date was today 27th Apr, 2015.
I tracked my post online and it's still out for delivery. I called post Canada and they said that sometimes due to large volume they miss last scanning but your item would have been delivered by now. They also asked me to call cic and confirm with them if they received my passport. If not I have to call post Canada back and ask them to track my post.
I'm so worried that they will lose my passport. Does anyone else has this issue before???
Any help would be appreciated.

Got the pp today
On the letter accompanying the pp they said to make appointment at CIC for landing. Only if you could not do that or if your current visa is expiring for less than 2 months then do the landing in the border?
Do I really need to wait 2 months to get appointment at CIC?
Is it wise to wait?

Hey Denish.. I had the same problem when I sent my work permit application in 2011.

Canada post couldn't track my package and they told me that it might have delivered but they couldn't track it for some reason. So I called CIC they said they couldn't check whether they received my package or not. So I had to wait for 3 months to know what happened to my package.

Canada post sent me a apologize letter saying they couldn't track it and they refunded the money I paid for the xpresspost ( around 18$).

After 3 months wait CIC processed my work permit. So it was just the tracking problem. So in your case its the same I guess.
May be contact cic and see if they can check the packages they received. It should have delivered on Aprl 27th.

same thing happened with my friend when he sent his passport to ottawa for pr visa stamped in January 2015. then he phoned cic and they said its delivered to them.so call cic they ll let u know for sure..

I called CIC and they confirmed that they received my passport yesterday.
However, the feeling was scary as you don't wanna have any problem at the last step after such a long wait.
