u r lucky... may I know which country ur from?

I am from China...I feel the VO just wanna finish my case before the new year....I need my passport anyways for crossing the border to the States for the Winter Classic!! Woohoooo!! my application was sent on Jan 11th....between medical done and medical received by Ottawa was one week, and after medical result received, I got passport request in a week...seems pretty fast....

My passport was sent out to Ottawa on 11/22, received by Ottawa on 11/25, and my tracker was activated today 12/02! was amazed by the speed....

I sent my passport on 23rd Nov and received at CIC on 26th Nov.
lets hope for the best

How do you guys know that your tracker is activated.

Did you provide return envelope ? If yes, put the tracking number of that envelope .

If you didn't, they'll send your passport by regular mail.

Why doesn't CPP allows people to come personally for visa stamping?
I mean that would reduce the waiting time for people and also there is no chance of losing the passport intransit

One of my friends had a bad experience of losing her passport when she applied for another country's visitors' visa. Since then I am sorta scared.

I understand that if your TRV and TWP expire, then you have to apply a new TWP but TRV is optional because you need a TRV only if you go outside Canada and re-enter. In this case, if you apply for PR and send your PP for stamping to visa office, they will see that you have the required TWPs but maybe your TRV expired much earlier. Will that be an issue? I believe the immigration officers should have a good understanding of CIC rules but they might specialize in different areas. So a PR officer may or may not have enough information regarding the TRVs (depending on their experience).
