Here's my timeline,

Oct 17, 2024 : Application received by IRCC
Dec 16, 2024 : Invite for the citizenship exam
Jan 6, 2024: Took the Exam
Feb1 : LPP complete

Its been close to 4 weeks now, no updates yet with regards to the Oath ceremony. When submitting my application, the service processing time was set for 4 months, clearly that was missed. What would be a suitable date to follow up IRCC? Appreciate some suggestions for the next steps. Thanks

It is taking up to a month to for the oath invite, my LPP was complete 29th Jan and my AOR was 28th Oct. I think we will just need to wait, I called them a few times and I always get the same response, that I need to wait for the oath email. Do you know which office is processing your application?

Thanks for your response. So I'm not sure which office is processing my application but I reside in Richmond BC. The concerning thing for me is that a friend of mine (happy for him) whose application was received by IRCC later than me (resides within Vancouver city limits) received his invite for Oath on Feb 18, 2025. That seems strange and to be a honest at random. Shouldn't IRCC be serving requests on a first come first serve basis?

I called IRCC again and got a relatively helpful rep. He explained there could be number of reasons why an application may not have received an oath ceremony:
a) If it's a group application they might be waiting on the other applicants to finish all required assessments to send a combined oath invite
b) They might be waiting to send the oath invite to the closest office to your home address
c) They may not have enough spots available for oath so they might send it to another office to send out an oath invite
d) As long as it's within processing time (15 months) it can take couple months to get the oath invite

Various factors are involved in each application (this is something i'm sure we all have heard by now) for individuals who got their application processed seemingly faster versus another application.
1) Some might be urgent applications
2) Could be because all requirements were met and it was a straight forward application
3) Every application is different

All in all - nothing truly helpful but I'm part of a group application so the Agent thought that's the possible reason for the delay even though Adult applications are still processed separately sometimes they try to keep the group applications together for Oath. Unfortunately this is back firing on me big time since I'm done all my assessments and the other application is still all gray/in-progress.

I'm going to request to separate my file from the group - which also can take time and the decision is at the officer's discretion. i hate this entire process hahaha.

Did you end up separating? Can you share the experience pls?

Congrats, it means you will get oath in the next couple of days.
Whats an oath certificate? Can you please elaborate, I thought you simply receive an email as an invite for the Oath ceremony. After the ceremony you receive a citizenship certificate, which is what's used for applying for the passport. Never heard of an oath certificate, whats that?

I think the original commenter meant they received instructions to download the e-certificate, this is an email that normally comes 1-2 days before the oath is updated on the tracker. It’s an indicator that your oath has been scheduled and you just need to wait for the oath invite email.

Update from my side, yesterday (Feb 27) received email about instructions to download citizenship certificate. Today (Feb28) I logged into the citizenship tracker portal and noticed that the Oath step is in progress. Haven't received the oath invite email yet. Waiting on that.
