Waiting for my stamped passport (canada visitor visa) since 2 weeks

I applied for the visitor visa for Canada. My application was accepted and I was asked to send my passport for stamping. I sent my passport (without return envelope) to Canadian embassy. I am now waiting since 2 weeks for my passport to be returned by the embassy. There is no update or any information about reciept or dispatch of the passport from the Canadian embassy. Is there any specific contact number where I can call to enquire about my visa. I have already done my tickets to visit Canada in 1 week from today, but I dont have my passport in hand.

May sure canadian embassy works on december end calendar month. Due to Christmas,boxing day and new year.
