Waiting for 2nd AOR, can I call my spouse on a Visitors Visa

Hello Folks,

I have applied for express entry including my wife who is currently in India. My PGWP expires at the end of December 2015 and I will be applying for BOWP soon. As she is in India and given the possible delay due to the BOWP processing, can I look at bringing her to Canada on a 'Visitors Visa' keeping in mind that she has been included in the PR application.

Any comments will be highly appreciated.

yes you can.. i have my spouse living with me past 4 moths as a visitor.
She is leaving soon tho.
Ask her to apply as a tourist visiting you

Do you know if I would be able to apply for her Open Work Permit based on my Work permit extension from Canada with her being on a Visitor's Visa?

Visitor visa typically does not allow you to apply for a work permit but you can give it a shot if you want. May need a bit of convincing to be done in this case.
