I got a letter for my interview from the local immigration office.
It's in Feb. 2012 which will be 5 months after from my second stage was approved.
I am wondering if this is normal.
If i got a reason to have it quicker, is it possible to contact them and reschedule the interview date?
Thank you for you advices. ;)

Depending on which office is your local CIC office, yes, that could be quite normal. Some offices are so busy it can take them a year to schedule a landing date, so be glad you need only wait 5 months more. No, you can't reschedule to an earlier date, so far as I know.

Thank you CharlieD10, actually i am very glad that finally i got an interview after 2 years of long wait.
But i have to go back home next April for my sister's wedding and i am afraid if i cannot finish all this before the time.
Because i will have to wait another 1-2 months more for my PR card after the interview.
Hopefully i can get all done by the time i am planning to leave.

And one more thing.. is there anything i should know or prepare for my interview?

Thank you! ;D

Was your application transferred with AIP? If it was, then the landing interview is routine and you only need to bring what they specify in the letter regarding the date of the interview.

If it was transferred without AIP, you should expect to be interviewed on the contents of your application.

Hi CharlieD10! I'd like to ask you maybe you know information which I'm looking for. Now I'm waiting for second stage of approval. And after this I maybe need to go to the interview. I live in Mississauga. So my question - which is my local office and how long approximately it can take to wait for it. Thank you :)

Honestly, I don't know which office you would be assigned to. What I do know from reading around the forum is that CIC offices in that area tend to be VERY busy, so your wait time could be long. That is to be expected as the GTA is home to high concentrations of immigrant populations. Sorry I can't be more specific. Try asking on the Inland thread, you may get a better idea there.
