Wait times for new applications without citizenship tests in place

Hi. I'm just curious what our timelines will be, given that it is barely Feb 2020 applicants getting AOR and no citizenship tests on horizon currently.

Will the processing potentially take 20+ months? Given that every month 30k+ applications get submitted, on top of the around 250k application backlog (as of Feb 2020).

People are saying that the government is looking into online tests. Others say that no online tests will be done until people start getting back to their offices, so it could be well towards the end of 2021 they could resume tests again.

Not going to happen - would require a change to Citizenship Act.

The test is so useless anyway, a bunch of stupid questions for which you have to memorize answers. They should just scrap it altogether and give citizenship once you meet the eligibility requirement. No one is interested in the stupid test or the oath that follows, let's be cereal.
