Wait Time Increasing Significantly Oct-Nov 2024

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any insight as to why the wait time for work permits (and presumably other visas) has increased so much in the last month? In the last week the wait time increased 12 days, and the week before that it was +9 days. The wait time is nearly double what it was when I applied.

The delays are more focused on work permits. IRCC is placing greater scrutiny around reviews and approvals as a result of some of the recent policy changes and this appears to have impacted processing. Hopefully it levels out after a while.

Hi Everyone,

I submitted my passport on October 11 at the VFS Global Lahore office. It has now been 27 days, but the online portal still shows my application as "in process," and I am still waiting for a response.

Has anyone else submitted their passport around this time?

Get ready for an increase in processing times for everything immigration related. With Trump winning there will be a massive jump in asylum/immigration/etc applications to Canada. If you don't believe me Marc Miller admitted this just yesterday.
