Actually it's not for free, they will take ten percent of the duration of the contract. But they are not taken any prepayment from me until I am there and start to work. I will still be careful though

This was what they sent to me : Volunteer to Canada. Responsibilities include - assistance in organizing order in times of crisis from charitable foundations and non-profit organizations:
- Territory Cleaning
- Work in warehouses: sorting - packaging, picking of food products, clothes, medicines
- Work in the agricultural sector (farms, factories)
- Work in refugee camps - distribution of food / clothes, cleaning of the territory, etc.

The work of the volunteer is coordinated on the spot in accordance with the rules established by charitable and non-profit organizations and involves a minimum wage, a full social package, a social guarantee, free accommodation. Visa 2 years.

Candidate Requirement:
- Social responsibility
- Age not older than 50 years.
- Stress resistance
- Physical health
- English level intermediate
- Sociability

Working conditions:
The employer provides a full social package, which includes meals, accommodation, air travel (charter).
2 years in Canada. No special permits are required to obtain a visa for a volunteer; an invitation from a charity is sufficient. The recruitment of volunteers is carried out under the program of "International Mobility Program". Remuneration is made by each charitable organization within the social fund of the inviting organization and corresponds to the minimum wage in Canada of 11.06 CAD per hour. A working day of at least 10 hours.

Did they ask for any documents such as your passport, bank statement, etc.? Some scammers go after your personal information / documents and may use this information to commit fraud.

But I told her I did not have any money in my bank account so the statement would not be good. She said it does not matter they only need bank statement not because they want to know the money you have, but just to be sure you are trusted in your country as banks open accounts to their trusted Clients. What do you think I should do sir?

Do not give them any more personal information or share any personal documents. Also, stop communicating with them. Again, this is a scam. There is no chance this is real.

Good evening everyone, I need someone to educate me. I applied for a job through a certain agency, and the agency wrote to tell me that due to the COVID 19 the the position I applied for in Europe won't be available. But they told me there's a volunteer job in Canada that if I want to do a volunteer job, they can assist me in that. I accepted the offer, and they have started to arrange for a contract to be signed. But currently in my country the Canada embassy is closed but according to them the visa will be applied through online. But I want to know would they give a letter of approval for me to get to Canada before the visa is placed in my passport or how do I get the visa in my passport? Kindky help me please.

There can be legit volunteering work, but from the looks of it, this is a fishy deal.

Legit charities / NGOs like Red Cross and March of Dimes DO have volunteer positions. Some of these positions can be filled by a person on a visitor visa (there are details though), some require an actual work permit and TRV (if you are outside canada). Believe it or not there is something called as "Charitable Work Permit". That said, it has a confusing and out right messy details.

Like if you need to get a Charitable work permit, your "work" should be something that is considered as work in Canada, the charity does not gets remunerated for it, you *may*/*will* get a token stipend or living quarters, it is work BUT it should not be fillable by a non work equivalent ie if you are going to cook for Charity, it should not be possible to do that without a cook and a few more. Those kind of details. Plus from my discussion with other folks who got this, the work permit is uncommon. Meaning the officials at port of entry may not be familiar with it.

From the looks of it, some travel companies are perhaps misusing this very genuine work permit for their profit. They get you a work permit or a visitor visa for charity work (You will STILL need to show how you will support yourself in Canada), The "charity" will get a hand and they will get a "cut" from charity. Weird scheme. I am sure sooner or later IRCC will hammer them as only way the "Charity" can pay the middle man is if it gets money from somewhere.
