Hi Everyone,

I need your expert advice/help for my application process. I am planning to apply for my parents (Lives in India, Punjab) to come and visit me in Ontario. These are my concerns:

1. Should I apply on-line or with paper application forms?
2. They don't have a job or business because my father is farmer and mother is housewife. Would that be an issue? I can show their income thru J-farms (which has been issued by government) but how do I tell this on application that this incomes from agriculture.
3. Do I need to specific income for this purpose?
4. Can I fill this application for them from Ontario (on-line)?
5. When I was going thru eligibility questions, there was one question regarding appointing a rep and giving him authorization to be represent them to CIC. Next question was if the rep will give you paid submission letter?
Can I be the rep from them with paid submission letter without any problem on their applications?

Any other advice before I begin my application process will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Farmer is not a job?

True, farming is not a job but it is definitely a business. But how can I show this as business because they want some kind of business number. My father does not have business number given by city or town for his farming.

Does your dad own the agricultural land? Can he prove government registered ownership documents?

Has the land been assessed by land revenue?

Does your dad rent or earn an income by cultivating the land for agricultural produce?

Does your dad pay income tax? Can he submit ITRs for the last 2 years?

Hi Bryanna,

Yes, he owns the land. I can ask him to produce ownership paper for immigration purposes.

Yes, land has been assessed and I got those digital forms.

He does earn income by cultivating land.

I am not sure about income tax but he does receive J-farms from government which shows total sale of the crops every season.

Hi,

For the agricultural land and income:
Your dad should submit the land ownership documents (including current market value) + J forms + land assessment documents, etc

Apart from this, he can submit property ownership (house/apartment) documents + vehicle ownership + family ties (particularly dependent family who live with him), etc.

Financials:
6 months bank statements (no borrowings) + personal tax returns for 2 years + financial investments (FDs, shares, LIC, jewelry as investment, PPF, etc)

You may also want to submit an Assets-Liabilities statement prepared by a Chartered Accountant (current valuation).... backed by proofs.

Note:
Documents which are not in English must be translated by a certified translator + submit attested copies of the original documents

Cheers
