How were u able to check on CIC online account about visitor visa. I have been trying to access it but it wont let me. i applied for my wife's visa as well and passport has been dispatched, how can i check if its approved or not online? Please help

1.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp (Continue to GCKey ---> sign up shouldn't take long/signin)
2. Link paper application to this account --> Temporary residence --> Temporary resident visa --> Family Name, Given Name and Date of Birth
3. Fill all the info (EXACT SAME INFO) that you entered while apply for TRV (form: IMM 5257E)

Only place where it went wrong for me and needed couple of tries is place of birth (If you have written Chennai, TamilNadu in the form then enter same as is while linking application/try without space after comma)

Again everything you enter should be the exact same from form IMM 5257E. GOOD LUCK , hope you got positive result

So Place of birth would'nt be same as written on passport? I am not sure what spellings exactly my consultant wrote on the file.

I left the place of birth ' vacant .. added a space , as suggested by Faraz and worked for me

Do we need a return ticket if someone is coming to Canada on TRV. I heard, that without return ticket, the person is not allowed to board in plane in India. Is that true? Please share your experience.

Yes / no. Depends on circumstances and officers. One of my known travelled first time and never asked for anything on return ticket. But they might ask. Talk to travel agent . Is it for your spouse?

Ya, its for my spouse.. anyways i booked return ticket, just to be on the safe side.

My wife just got multiple entry visa I have a question is it ok if I just book one way ticket and she can tell them that we will book return later on depending on our Immigration file.
