Hello.
My husband (Dominican Republic Citizen) is in Canada and has a valid Open Work Permit until 2021, but his visa stamp in his passport expired on August 2018 while we were in implied status waiting for the open permit to arrive.
We already sent our online visa stamp request to re-entry Canada but is in process.
Can he go Outside of Canada and re entry without this stamp? with his boss from work?
Someone told me about an ETA document, what can he do?. He has an urgent job related trip this Sunday and visa is not here yet. Can he solve this in the Border on his way back to Canada?
Thanks in advance

He is not visa-exempt i.e. he is not eligible for an eTA. He will need a valid TRV to re-enter

If there's no handwritten date below the stamp, you can stay until up to 6 months from the date you arrived.

That said, you were issued a TRV of only 6 months' validity because the visa officer was not confident that you are a genuine visitor. If you stay for the entire length of admission allowed (6 months), you may find it difficult to get another visa approval in the future

The visa itself does not expire on November, does it? Isn't that the "must enter by" date? You are permitted to stay until the end of the date mentioned under the stamp or until the validity of your passport expires. Unless your visa actually said it expires, then the November 14 date is the date by which you must enter Canada.

My Visa was issued may to November in my country but I travel in july and my book was stamp by the border officer july to January 2019. . When best to go back home because I dont wanna mash up my Visa to get it back in the future.

So look at this website: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/visa-validity-expiry-dates.html

Here is what it says:
The expiry date on the TRV is the date by which the visa must be used to seek admission into Canada. If the visa is not used on or before that date, it ceases to be valid.

The validity date is NOT the suggested duration of the visit. At the port of entry examination, CBSA officers determine the length of time temporary residents are authorized to stay in Canada.

Typically, when officers are satisfied that the foreign nationals are admissible, entry is granted for a six-month period, unless they hold a Parent and Grandparent Extended Stay Temporary Resident Visa (PG-1 or letter of introduction from the visa office), in which case entry may be granted for a period of up to two years on each entry.

As to when to go home, Bryanna is right - staying until the last possible day may harm your chances in the future.
