Hello everyone,

I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me if I can get a visitor's record AFTER I enter Canada. I am a Japanese citizen, I arrived here 3 months ago without a visa and they did not give me a visitor's record when I entered the country. (I can stay here as a visitor for 6 months without a visa. After that, I need to extend my stay.)

Now I need a document to prove that I am here legally - how can I get a visitor's record or some such document?

Any help appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

Your passport proves where you are. It got a stamp when entering Canada and as you don't have any other after it, it implies you are in Canada.

Visitor records can only be given at points of entry, so if you need one you have to exit Canada and come back again and see if you qualify.
