We have a visitor who had a valid TRV visa on her old passport. The old visa in the previous passport expires on the 2nd of March 2025. This passport was renewed early and the traveler has a new passport.
We looked at the instructions at - https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1650&top=16
It clearly states that we can travel with the old and the new passport with the old visa still being valid, but recommends we get a new visa stamped on the new passport if possible.
We have made an overseas application in July, but still haven't heard anything. Under these circumstances, can we travel using the old passport? Does a visa application invalidate the old visa?
The intended travel is for tourism purposes and is expected to be in October, 2024 for about 30 days. Any advice with references is appreciated.
