Your husband can stay with you outside of Canada while the application is being processed if he is a Canadian citizen. If he is a PR, he must stay in Canada during the processing, though short visits are allowed.

ok thanks . yes hes a citizen, i was just worried in case they ask him more papers about his job. because once he comes here, he will not have a job until he applies for new job here.

my husband applied since august 2011 for us. we have not been qualified for stage 1, the sponsorship part yet because of the tax paper canada post lost. i wonder, if we get to finally send the new tax paper this month, will we have to wait the 50 days to be qualified or since we applied from august, they will just process the application? thanks.

He can definately leave the country and visit you.

I read that the sponsor can leave canada on "vacations" ie normally a few weeks at a time is considered "normal" but if immigration canada finds out you are out of the country for long periods of time it can definately have a negative effect on your application

in saying that a "resident of Canada" needs to be in Canada 183 years of the fiscal year and keep all ties, keep paying his mortgage, paying taxes etc, so in saying that he could stay with you for a period of time as long as he is in Canada this many days of the year.

but id like to know now since we applied from august 2011 and having a delay with sending a required paper, once its sent, will they make us wait the normal 50 or 60 days of sponsorship approval or they will just process our app_? thanks again.
