Hi! I'm on visitor visa and I've applied for inland family sponsorship...

My time has come to go back home on August 14th.. but.i want to stay longer in canada without having to travel back home and coming back.

Someome told me i can go to Canadian and American border and get my passport stamp and return to Canada right away and that will be like leaving canada and coming back...
Can someone help me if this is true because it sounds too good to be true lol.

Better would be to apply to extend online to extend without leaving . Do it now.

If your internet has the search function enabled it will be easy to find.

You shoudl check on the status of that one, I should think. My understanding is that if you apply, you will have implied status (i.e. you're not formally out of status because it's in process). But please check with others.

(I'm a little confused how you know your current status expires on a specific date if you applied to extend six months ago - becuase extensions are usually six months? - but you'll have to work it out)
