hi there,

I am a indian citizen and living in new zealand since 4 years (2yrs studied and 2 yrs worked). i am holding a working visa at the moment and got a permanant job here. i want to visit canada for 3 to 4 weeks to see my friends there. do i have chances to get visa if i will show sufficent funds and a support letter from my employer to show that i have got annunal leave to trvel somewhere for a month and i will restart my job after a month. if no then what i suppose to do?

If you provide the evidence you've listed, you have a small chance of being granted a visa. Getting a visitor's visa to Canada is hard because of people who have abused the visitor's visa in the past. Definitely include your letter from your employer. If you've ever needed to return to India because your status in NZ expired, make sure to document that too - as proof you do leave as requested - you maintain legal status.

You'll also need to show your lodging plans in Canada. If you're staying with your friend, have them write an invitation letter and include that in your application as well.

If you independantly have sufficient funds, it will help your chances. Remember, they are still small.

If you are a Filipino or Filipina and you want to come to Canada on a tourist visa, do not waste your time applying.
I wasted 2 days filling out all the paper work for my wife, and even deposited 5000$ in her personal bank account to make sure she had enough funds for a month trip, and the visa was refused in 24 hours. The embassy of the Philippines took my 75$ and flushed my application with no chance of explanation. I suggest to all those who want to marry a Filipina, to move here in the Philippines, were you can live like a king on 1500$ a month. I have left Canada, and want nothing to do with this country of high taxes and poor services. I am very grateful for the warm hospitality and friends I have made here in the Philippines, so bye bye snow, high taxes, and the overpriced life of living in Canada. ;D
