Hello, anyone has applied for Canada Visitor visa while they are waiting for their PR application decision? I ordered GCMS notes and my file is approved on April 2021, but there has been no update. I am aware that we can apply for visitor visa but what are the chances /experience of getting visa? could officer refuse? I have a friend there, and also my mom has visitor visa till 2024, if that can be utilized in some way!

source of whether you can apply visitor visa during PR application process : https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1018&top=16

thanks.
PS. if there's already a thread on this, post link too.

The fact you have a friend in Canada and your mom has a TRV doesn't help your case.

Yes, you can certainly apply for a TRV. I think it's hard for us to say what your chances of being approved are without more information. If you have previous travel history to Canada and other countries requiring visas such as the US and UK, then I would say your chances are good. You will want to show ties to your home country (job, property, assets) and also show that you have enough funds to pay for your visit. Keep in mind that a TRV can only be used to visit Canada, not to move here. So you want to avoid having your TRV application look like you're getting it primarily for the reason of moving to Canada before your COPR is issued.

Good luck.

Yeah, I have lived there for about 6 years and then came back. Also my parents travelled twice there. I am just contemplating whether I should or shouldn't because processing times are around 170 days, which is a lot and may be I might get the CoPR by then. Just an uncertainty and thinking about the option.

IMO you should have an easy time getting a TRV approved in that case.

I don't know if it's worth it. You'll have to make a call on that yourself. Might be or might not be. Hard to say.

Hi,

I have two quick questions,

a) what's the difference between IRCC portal and IRCC secure account?

b) Is covid vaccine mandatory for all visitor applications?

Thanks

a) I don't know.

b) Not at this time. But the rules are very quickly evolving and new rules around this are supposed to go in as of October 30th.
