Hello there, My brother and his family got invited for the USA to attend a wedding reception for his Uncle”s daughter ( our cousin sister) which would be in December.
Now around the same time we (me and my husband) celebrating our Wedding Anniversary party (nothing special just 17th). I would like to invite him for Canada.
He got interview time end of this month for the USA. He is thinking to cancel the USA interview but He has been told by the agent that if he will cancel his interview with USA Embassy it may cause a problem with Canadian visitor application.
I need help with this, should he apply for both countries? Will it cause anything if he got declined or cancel for the USA?
Thank you!

One refusal or cancellation would likely NOT yet be an issue. The agent did say MAY, which means it’s not definite.

I see no reason for him to cancel the US visa interview. He can certainly try for both. What’s important is that the applications address what either country is looking for.

No. “Address” as a verb, in the case of fulfilling the requirements to be approved for the visas.

You may want to rethink about your wedding anniversary as the reason for his visit. Generally, wedding anniversaries/birthdays and the like are not considered as compelling reasons to visit.

Also, your brother would need to demonstrate his strong ties to his home country + state short, finite visits to the US and Canada + must prove he has the finances to cover the entire US-Canada trip, including airfare, without depending on the uncle or you

Thank you Bryanna!!
I think most likely he will cancel the USA interview I just hope it would not make any bad impact on the Canadian visa.

it won't but again your invitation will also not going to help him to obtain CA visa better if you let him take USA first either choice is yours Good Luck please browse forum first and read threads before apply for CA visa good luck
