You can do it either way. Currently, online applications show 67 days, mail applications 66 days (for new employer). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp

If you do it at a POE, it takes about 20 minutes plus queue time.

There's a simple procedure at the US border. You tell them you wish to flag pole. If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, they issue you an administrative refusal. You then return to the Canadian side.

If your wife and son are still in status, you can apply to extend their status online or via mail after you have renewed/extended your own status or you can do it at the same time if they are with you.

Hi guys,

I would like to ask..

1. What are the requirements needed to apply visitor visa going to Canada from Philippines?
2. Is the visitor allowed to apply in Canada while in visitor visa?
3. What if he find a job, where can he apply for work permit without going back to Philippines?
4. Do he need to show some proof of funds? How much?
5. Can he apply in any job that out of his graduate course and current employment in Philippines? But he has other experience in other field as well.

Thank you. I hope you can help me with this.
