Are you in Canada now?If so your employer needs to file for a LMIA, pay $1K and then prove no Canadian or PR could be hired. You wait and if approved for LMIA, you apply for closed work permit. Then you wait for processing and approval. Once you have your work permit you can start working.Hi has anyone done this and can explain how it actually works. Can do I have to have a job offer.
Do you have an approved LMIA? If not, assume you have IELTS completed and you are looking for a job that matches your experience. Also if employer has to go through LMIA process then expect process to take around 8-9 months.Yes I am and thanks for responding
Open work permits are only an option for specific conditions. You can’t just apply for one and work as a visitor.8-9 months wow that's long. LMIA not done yet. Being that I am already here wouldn't I be able to take out an open work permit on my own instead. Just asking to see the options I have. I have done a little research but it can be so confusing sometimes
You are a TRV holder. Not a TRP holder.Ok so yes I am a temporary resident holder
Ok thanks saw the mistakenYou are a TRV holder. Not a TRP holder.
Only TRP holders qualify for open work permits. So you don't qualify.
You still have many months to wait. Have employment letters ready to match the NOC of the LMIA you hope to be approved.Keeping my fingers cross for the LMIA approved
