Visitor visa to study permit

I came here to meet my brother so now I would like to take a course here . How long does it take to get the permit and the documents I need . Please help

You can take short course ( less than 6 month) without needing study permit, but if you plan to take a full course you need to leave Canada in order to apply for a study permit
