We applied on October 6 (GCKey)for our 2 year old daughter born outside of Canada. I’m a Canadian citizen and my husband is a foreign citizen with a valid TRV for Canada. We haven’t heard anything at all! Still waiting for any type of movement…

Why its take so long to get infant visa
Other people are getting within 1 week or 20 days.
If you were a Canadian citizen when your child was born your child doesn’t qualify for a TRV. You must establish that they are a citizen and get their passport.
Yes, I applied for her Canadian Citizenship in December 2020 and still don’t have it… So since she doesn’t have her Canadian passport yet, the only way she can enter Canada with a Turkish passport is with a TRV. Everything we apply for is taking so long, it’s very discouraging.

UPDATE:
We received a message from the embassy stating that anyone who may have a claim to Canadian Citizenship is not eligible for a Temporary Resident Visa. As a result, the TRV application will be withdrawn.
They also advised that I must first obtain a Canadian travel document such as a Passport, which requires an application for a document of proof of Canadian citizenship.
I already applied for the Canadian Citizenship Certificate more than a year ago and there is no movement on the application thus far.
I think you can get a temporary passport for your child while waiting for her proof of Canadian citizenship. I haven't gone through the process myself but I've seen others getting a 1 time entry passport in similar case.
