Hey guys!
So I’ve been waiting on my TRV application that I applied here in Canada after extending my study permit for quite some time, but keeping in mind the current situation and the absurd processing time which stands at 101 days it doesn’t seem likely that approval will arrive any soon. On the other hand, I also wanted to urgently travel back to my home country for a compelling reason but have been stuck due to the application. Therefore, I was wondering whether is it possible that once my visa gets approved here in Canada, I can get it stamped at a Canadian consulate over there in my home country?
Please let me know if there’s a possibility, and do share any such experiences.

Yes but it may take a long time and will depend if offices are open.

What would be the reason for it to take a long time? I mean, I don’t expect the visa to be approved till September or October, and after that I guess stamping wouldn’t take much time. I even read somewhere that if the visa office has requested for the passport, there’s no meed for an appointment even.
What factors could cause the delay according to you?

Offices are closed due to covid. If covid is still a problem they will likely stay closed. Maybe there will be alternate methods for everyone to get counterfoils.
