Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen and my fiance is in India. Because outland spousal sponsorship is taking very long, we decided that fiance should come to Canada on visitor visa and we do inland from here.

We applied for Visitor visa and showed that the fiance is my friend being invited. We showed fiance as self-sponsor with bank balance of 5 lakhs and other employment documents. The visa was rejected for reasons like: Not satisfied you will leave Canada, no significant family ties outside Canada, purpose of visit is not consistent with a temporary stay.

Should we order GCMS notes or go for reapplication with new supporting documents and invitation from a family?

- How long a trip did your fiance request?
- Does your fiance have previous travel to countries requiring visas?
- I get confused about lakh conversion. How much is that in CAD?
- What did your fiance provide for employment documents?

- 4 weeks
- US visitor visa 20 years back (we didn't include copy of visa or expired passport containing stamp)
- Around 8000 CAD
- We didn't include employment letter ..just mentioned in letter

I think we should have included a lot many documents like property ownership papers, employment letter, and the US visitor visa stamp. An agent is asking us to go for GCMS notes which are currently taking a long time.

Apply without an agent. Yes, you submitted a weak application.

- I would request a trip of 2-3 weeks.
- The US visitor visa from 20 years ago is likely too old to be relevent. No recent travel to countries requiring visas does somewhat weaken the application.
- Bank balance is on the low side. Increase it if you can.
- You need actual proof of employment. Letter from the employer confirming the leave period and also pay stubs is a good idea.
- Yes, include property ownership documents for your fiance.

It's your choice if you wait for the GCMS notes or not.

Note that it's quite possible this will end in another refusal even with a stronger application. Just be prepared for that possibility.

Good luck with the new application.

Inland sponsorship is not an option for many couples. You Have the option to live in India during sponsorship as a citizen.
