Unfortunately there's nothing you can do. Your husband will have to wait out the 5 year ban before he can re-apply to enter Canada.

Thank you for response.

this ban affected any other countries???
You would have to state in your application for any country that he is banned from Canada for misrepresentation and was rejected from the US. I would expect difficulties.

Unfortunately, it will affect the chances of getting visa approvals to other visa-required countries. He would need to declare this 5-years' ban for any visa applications in the future

Does this ban only apply to trv applications? I don't know her situation but if she was Canadian or pr and applied spousal....does the 5 year ban transfer to that as well?

It applies to all visa applications.

Also, if she applies for PR, she will be refused because she is a family member of an inadmissible person. Or, if she sponsors her husband for PR (assuming she is a PR/citizen) then his PR application will be refused because he has been banned

My father had something similar happened to him but that was for US, he answered 1 question incorrectly, resulting in 5 year ban. Good thing is if youre able to find a good immigration lawyer and creat valid arguement, they can remove the ban. This isn’t guaranteed though. As it varries from case to case and will cause money and time.

The valid argument would be 'He forgot to put it in'. I'm sorry 'I forgot' doesn't qualify

It would be almost impossible to overturn the ban. The OP's husband would need to prove there was no *intention* to misrepresent.... and/or the visa officer had erred in the decision (especially as the OP's husband would have received a Procedural Fairness letter before he was banned).... both scenarios are impossible to prove

so if you receive the letter, at that point you can say "oops I forgot" and then provide all the details.....likely get rejected but avoid the ban?
The penalty is so harsh, I know its to deter misrepresentation and stop those people that think its no big deal if they don't include previous refusals for fear of another refusal, but I bet some non native English speakers probably just make a mistake too.

It is harsh for the people that genuinely make a mistake, but there are a lot of people that try to play the system and make it hard for the genuine ones. You can certainly try with a lawyer to get the ban overturned, but this will cost a lot of money and has a very very slim chance of succeeding. How would he prove he made a mistake? .

Sometimes you can avoid the ban by saying this and sometimes the ban is still applied. Refusal is pretty much guaranteed.

Penalty is actually somewhat light compared to other places. The US gives people a lifetime ban for misrepresentation.
